I was born in London and grew up in Brighton. As a child, I played violin, piano, and electric guitar. I started writing songs as a teenager.
Next - I signed to Sony Music and toured extensively as lead-singer/songwriter for rock band The Upper Room. I wrote two UK top 40 singles.
Then - I spent my early twenties writing and recording with artists and producers, including Paul Epworth (Adele, U2, Coldplay), Gil Norton (Pixies, Feeder), Leftfield, Kwes, Mikky Ekko, Ladytron.
Later - I Signed to Sony ATV as a songwriter, I honed my production skills working as a sound engineer with Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian).
Recently - I have been composing music for television programmes and adverts. Clients include BMG Production Music, Universal Production Music, BT Sport, Saatchi and Saatchi, BBC, Channel 4.
Now - I launched ‘The Song Sage’ in early 2020. My goal is to help other musicians with their songwriting. I love collaborating with other artists, and this is an element that I have been missing recently (composing for TV and adverts is a rather solitary business).
Here is a small selection of my work:
